Independent and Professional.
The unique organization structure allows SWIPRA to professionally offer its services while providing a maximum degree of independence when developing voting recommendations.
SWIPRA was founded at the end of February 2013 by the largest, independent joint-foundation in Switzerland, Vita joint-foundation, the association of Swiss investment foundations, KGAST, as well as a large pension fund, the Credit Suisse Group (Switzerland) pension fund.
The foundation SWIPRA is responsible for the SWIPRA Policy Considerations (economically-based and empirically founded principles (no rules) of corporate governance) as well as the final approval of the voting recommendations. The foundation SWIPRA is the majority shareholder of the SWIPRA Services AG.
The SWIPRA Services AG (SSAG) was founded in 2015 with the goal to assume the operational business of the foundation and to support the foundation in carrying out its purpose.
The SSAG allows an additional separation between content / general framework of the policy considerations and the client relationships and, therefore, helps to further expand the independence of the SWIPRA voting recommendation.
The unique SWIPRA-process for developing voting recommendations includes three independent instances. The primary recommendation is done by external partner, the verification by the SWIPRA Services AG and the final approval is given by the board of trustees of the SWIRPA foundation. This guarantees and independent and well-balanced recommendation.
