Barbara A. Heller, lic. oec. publ.After completing her studies in economics at the University of Zurich in 1991, Barbara Heller joined Bank Leu (today Credit Suisse) where she was working in the field of international credit, project and trade finance for foreign corporate clients. She then moved to the business unit capital markets / financial engineering, which she was heading as a managing director until 1996. Between 1997 and 2005, Barbara Heller was a member of the Senior Management of Vontobel Investment Banking, taking responsibility for various Swiss and international corporate finance and private equity transactions as well as consulting services for institutional investor groups and board members. She was further representing the Vontobel-Group towards the Swiss and the German Stock Exchanges for topics in the filed of public offerings and listings and participated in various expert groups concerning matters of capital markets regulation. In 2005, Barbara Heller assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer of Santhera Pharmaceuticals, Basel (SIX:SANN). There, she was responsible for several strategic, change management and financing projects, including the company’s IPO in 2006.
Barbara Heller is Of Counsel at Lemongrass Communications Ltd, member of the board of directors of Bank Cler Ltd, Basel and Vice-Chairman of the Swiss CFO Forum. She holds or was holding several memberships in boards of sport and non-profit organizations as well as boards of trustees and boards of directors. She received her Masters Degree in Economics and Business Administration, with an emphasis on financial economics, empirical research and banking from the University of Zurich. Barbara further attended various national and international continued educations and has been lecturing in professional and managerial training programs on a broad range of finance and governance related topics.
Christoph Wenk Bernasconi, PhD
Christoph Wenk Bernasconi is a Post-Doc at the Department of Banking and Finance at the University of Zurich. After the successful completion of his coursework in the PhD program of the Swiss National Bank in Gerzensee, he wrote his thesis on the field of empirical corporate finance and graduated in spring 2013. His research expertise is in the empirical analysis, in particular on topics of corporate governance and corporate finance as well as corporate valuation. During his PhD studies, Christoph Wenk Bernasconi was a teaching assistant for various lectures on the topics of Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation and methods of empirical research.
