First Insights into the 2026 Swiss AGM Season – Constructive Dialogue, Greater Pay Discipline
Zurich, April 24, 2026 – We have reached the halfway point of the 2026 Swiss Annual General Meeting (AGM) season. An analysis by SWIPRA Services, based on the 100 largest companies in the Swiss Performance Index (SPI100) with AGMs held through April 15, reveals an increase in votes against the election of Board Chairs as well as against sustainability reports. At the same time, there was little change in average CEO compensation, lower target achievement levels for bonuses, and higher approval rates for remuneration reports. The intensified dialogue between Boards of Directors and institutional investors in recent years appears to have improved mutual understanding regarding compensation, resulting in positive impacts on the corresponding AGM votes.
